Living Paradox 1: How did I get here?

👉 Leer Versión en Español

Do any of you believe in time travel? Can something so crazy and fascinating really exist?

To be honest, if you had asked me before if I believed in the possibility of something or someone changing history, I would have said, "It's impossible, and if it isn't, I'd find out first." It might have been a crazy dream in itself, but deep down, I wanted it to happen.

After finishing university and graduating with a degree in physics, I was recruited by the government to work on a hypothesis about how to break through the singularity and travel between timelines. Obviously, I accepted without thinking.

Months passed, and after much effort, we finished the machine that would change the world. Who could have foreseen what would happen next? An adult woman appeared before me, wearing a dress and carrying a gun.

"What do you want from me?" I asked.

"To make you happier," she replied.

"And why are you doing this?"

"I'm sorry, darling, you won't understand now, but you'll thank me later."

After saying those words, she shot me, and the last thing I remember was bleeding out as she activated the machine.

I woke up in a very strange room; I honestly didn't know where I was. I only knew I was in a room like the ones at the university. The first thing I did was look in the mirror, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I was standing in front of Alison, an old classmate from university. She was also in my major, but her grades were mediocre.

I honestly didn't know why, but I was in her body. I checked the date, and I was back in my university years. The first thing I did was try to think of a solution, but since I couldn't find one, I decided to continue with the story as it was (if I make drastic changes, I might unleash a much bigger calamity). So I decided to prepare to attend classes again. She wasn't very bright, but she was never late. While acting like her, I have to find a way to return to normal. I just hope it doesn't take too long. I don't know how I got here, but I don't want to stay like this forever.

To be continued...
